My 3rd outfit of the day...I'll take any chance I can get to wear my lace-up boots from F21
Mom and I have already sort of sampled the food at the Tipsy Pig. One night I wasn't feeling too well and didn't feel up to going out so Mom went out and picked up takeout from the Tipsy Pig. She brought back the popcorn shrimp appetizer and fries for my dinner and it was absolute heaven! Of course, on our actual journey to the restaurant itself, we had to order the shrimp dish again!
A minty-fresh mojito #yummy
The infamous popcorn shrimp appetizer
The appetizer was just as delicious as the first time I had it and the bowl was promptly cleared. After this wonderful starter we couldn't wait to taste our mains!
Mom ordered the sisig tacos and I decided on the classic gastropub dish: fish 'n chips. Mom devoured her sampler plate of tacos, and her not-photo'd salad, as I happily dug into my large chunk of fish and potato wedges.
This is what happens when you give Mom control of the camera
As with any fish 'n chips dish it's a lot of fried food--perfect for a Saturday night treat however I don't suggest it if you're looking to keep trim or don't relish greasy fingerprints while you're eating.
Overall the energy of the place is what really gets you going. The music, with an unfortunate tendency to be a tad too loud, drowns out other diners conversations so you can't eavesdrop (sad for a nosy bugger like me) although the constant laughter is really the soundtrack to the restaurant. Perfect for a fun date night, a night out with friends, an informal birthday, or just a night where you don't have to cook the Tipsy Pig will have me coming back time and time again. (Bring a sweater though--it gets a tad chilly!) Outdoor seating also available.
In conclusion: yay! rating. It's a yummy place with friendly staff and hearty helpings of bar food. (If you go please please please say you'll get the shrimp popcorn! Promise?)
