Pumpkin Patch 2017

The 3 things I think about when I think about fall are Halloween, pumpkins, and colder nights. It's not Halloween yet, and with temperatures still in the mid-80s, I was only left one option: pumpkins!

One of my closest friends (and roomie!) Tessa and I headed out to our local pumpkin patch that boasted hundreds of pumpkins, flavored honey sticks, warm apple cider, hay rides, corn mazes, and more! (You might remember Tessa from this post)
"Her name is Minnie"
Undoubtedly more exciting at night when the haunted hayrides run and the cornfield maze has spooky sights lurking around every corner, we had the lovely patch nearly all to ourselves on this rather hot late afternoon.
We spent upwards of an hour poking around the colorful gourds, trying to decide which ones were the perfect new members of our little plant family, including our glorious mini-succulent Barry.
We settled on two of the big ones: one orange for carving and one white, for painting!
We had nearly decided to leave the patch when these little guys caught my eye.
The delightful mini-pumpkins had little faces and slogans printed on them! Tessa adopted one with a little ghost family drawn on, promptly naming her 'Spoop'. I went for the little pumpkin with the most adorable scarecrow face drawn on her. Her name is 'Brainy', an ode to the Wizard of Oz of course.

I can't wait to show you what we do with our pumpkins, and the spooktacular Halloween party we have coming up! What's your favorite thing about October?
