5 Things

It's been a minute or so since my last post so I thought I would kick off summer with what I've been up to lately!

1. Got my wisdom teeth out! I'm pretty much over it now, a week out since my surgery, but I have to say I was not expecting to be as knocked out as I was! I also was expecting to be much more anxious about the surgery itself haha but it actually went really smoothly.

2. I finished school! For this year anyway. Sophomore year was such a whirlwind of so many feelings & experiences that it kind of flew by. Some highlights included my 20th Century Italian Feminist Literature class (one of my favorite classes so far), having so much fun taking grad photos, and teaching yoga at my campus gym--which leads to my next point!

3. I made so many new friends! Joining Campus Rec staff this year has been one of the biggest blessings in my life for so many reasons including the absolutely incredible staff! From other group fitness instructors (we have such fancy sounding titles) to personal trainers to desk staff the entire group cannot be beat. I've made some really incredible friends thanks to being a part of staff this year. (Special shout outs to the ladies in the photo above: Hannah is a kickass yoga teacher and personal trainer that went through 200-hour yoga training with me, Alina is a personal trainer that I actually met in one of my literature classes before I ever worked at the Rec, and Nura was my incredible co-teacher for our yoga class this year)

4. I completed my 200 hour yoga certification! It definitely didn't seem to go by very quickly while I was doing it, but looking back those 200 hours of training offered a learning experience that I wouldn't trade for anything. Teaching yoga has brought so much to my life (lookout for a post about it coming soon!) and I couldn't imagine life now without it. I also got the chance to teach a class this year (with lots of help from Nura) and for someone who used to have such terrible stage fright at the idea of speaking in front of more than two people, I adore teaching.

5. I'm back on the beach for the summer! Living beachside during the summer is such a blessing and I really don't take it for granted. The ability to go barefoot literally everywhere, the constant scent of ocean in the air, sand everywhere (okay maybe that one's not the best always), and outdoor showers are all some of my favorite things and I get to enjoy them all summer! My soul feels reset here.

What are you up to this summer?

xx

  1. Congrats on completing your 200 hours yoga certification, that's so awesome! It's so great that it helped you with your anxiety speaking in front of people, now moving onto loving to teach. I've always been interested in yoga, but have never had the guts to do that sort of course.

Also, congrats on finishing sophmore year! Bet that's a lot of stress over haha.

    Have a great week!

  2. I LOVE how your blog looks! I'm not really sure how blogspot works; did you design this yourself or was it one of their templates? Either way it looks amazing!
